Meet Jed Dorsey
Jed Dorsey has been painting his whole life. A fourth-generation artist, he began his journey in acrylics over 20 years ago. His paintings are collected internationally, and he is a sought-after instructor. Jed is passionate about sharing his knowledge and helping others grow in both practical skill and fearless creativity.
Jed's been featured in Plein Air Magazine, International Artist Magazine, HGTV's Good Bones, Blick Art Materials Featured Artists, and much more. He started Acrylic University in 2018.
Meet Dianna Shyne
Multiple award winning artist, Dianna Shyne infuses her paintings with a sense of vitality and life- affirming joy.
Pursuing her passion for art, Dianna Shyne has spent over thirty five years working in acrylic, oil and watercolor. She studied 15 years with renowned Russian Impressionist teachers including Ron Lukas, William Reese and Del Gish.
Dianna has exhibited her work in over 40 solo and two person exhibitions, and won more than a dozen top National awards, Including first place in The Artist’s Magazine 2013 all media competition. Her work is included in publications such as The Artist Magazine, Watercolor Magic and Northlight Books. Dianna’s painting “Americana” was featured in the 2013 edition of “Acrylic Works the Best of Acrylic Painting” published by Northlight Books.
Meet Brian Buckrell
Brian began painting full-time after retirement as a Professor of Veterinary Medicine in Guelph, Ontario. He studied with acclaimed artists across North America for a decade including 6 months full-time at the Jeffry Watts Atelier in California.
His paintings are reflective of his love of the outdoors, agriculture and rural communities. The more he has painted, the more his work has moved towards his signature abstract impressionistic style.
Brian's work has won numerous awards and competitions for both studio and plein air. He has been on the faculty at the Plein Air Convention, and he also was chosen to participate in the prestigious Door County Plein Air competition. His work has been cited in Arabella Magazine, in Soutwest Art and in the North Light Books: The Best of Acrylics and Plein Air Magazine's Plein Air Today.

Our members include people from all walks of life and levels of experience. You don't even need experience in art to have thrive inside of AU. We will walk you through each step of the painting process, starting with what supplies you want to have and why. You will gain the foundation for painting and be able to explore as far as you want. Many of our members have even gone on to win awards and pursue art as a career.
Can I join anytime?
No. We open the doors for membership just a few times a year. This allows us to focus on one group of new students at a time.
When are the classes?
The GREAT NEWS about your membership is that you can access all the pre-recorded lessons immediately and work through them at your own pace. There's no need to wait for anything or anybody else.
As for the LIVE content, this happens on Fridays at 10am PST. If you can't make it at that time don't worry because the recordings will be available for you to watch and learn when it works with your schedule!

All live events are recorded and can easily be watched on replay, so there's no need to worry about missing an event. We get it. You have a busy life, and sometimes things come up that limit live participation.
